This measure sought to ban the use of red light cameras in the city. City officials had used the money generated from ticket fines collected by the cameras to help with budget shortfalls, since this measure was approved alternate sources of funding will be needed. Petitioners said there was no problem getting the signatures, everyone seemed to want to sign. Opponents saw the cameras just as a way to gain money and not fair to drivers they catch.[2]
