This measure sought to implement a $2.64 property tax, per $1,000 of assessed value, in order to help pay for maintenance and improvement of town roads.

The text of the measure reads as follows:

The Town Council of the Town of Garfield adopted Resolution 2010-09, concerning a proposition to finance street maintenance and repair and street improvements for the Town of Garfield. This proposition would authorize the Town to collect an excess property tax levy upon all taxable property within the town in the amount of $55,000, an estimated $2.64, or less, per one thousand dollars of assessed value in the year 2010, for collection in 2011.[2]
