The question on the ballot:

Shall the fifteen (15) mill tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Garfield Township imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution be renewed at three (3) mills ($3.00) per $1,000.00 taxable value for the period 2013 through 2016, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds to be used for the maintenance, repair and improvement of roads located within Garfield Township, and shall the Township levy such increase in millage for such purpose during such time period, which increase will raise in the first calendar year of such levy an estimated $160,000?[3]
