Gary Lee is a Republican member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 22 since 2000. Gary Lee started his political career by joining the Casselton City Council and the Central Cass School Board.

Lee began his professional career in 1969 serving in the specialist fifth class of the United States Army in Vietnam. His service ended in 1971. Four years later Lee was hired as a manager of the Respiratory Care Service in the Merit Care Health System and still works in this position.

Gary Lee earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1969 at the North Dakota State University and later attended the North Dakota School of Respiratory Care at the University of Mary in 1975.

Gary Lee has been involved with a number of organizations including the American Association for Respiratory Care, the Bethel Evangelical Free Church, the Director, Cass Rural Water Users, the Salem East Free Church, the Township Officer, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Lee ran in the 2012 election for North Dakota Senate District 22. Lee ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 12. He defeated Jessica Arneson in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Gary Lee was born in July 19, 1947 in Fargo, North Dakota and was subsequently raised in Casselton, North Dakota. He is currently married to Joan Lee with two children and is a professed Evangelical Christian.
