Mazzotta seeks to lower government spending, reduce the public debt, and reduce bureaucracy.[1]

He has stated, "I will work to keep Downtown and North Loop vital by bring [sic] businesses and jobs to North Minneapolis. Everyone has the right to a successful bright future, so I will work to reform and lower the tax burden, and that Minnesota spends smartly & services stay intact. I will also ensure that good teachers are retained based on performance & great schools are developed for the future of our children."[2]

Mazzotta ran in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 59B. He defeated Bill McGaughey in the Republican primary on August 14 and was defeated by Raymond Dehn (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3]

Mazzotta was a Republican candidate for District 58B, Minnesota House of Representatives in the November 2, 2010 state legislative election. He was defeated by Bobby Joe Champion (DFL) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
