Boag ran in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Thirty-Sixth Middlesex District. She was defeated by Cathy Richardson in the Republican primary on September 6. Incumbent Colleen Garry ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[1][2]

Campaign themes
Boag supports cutting the state sales tax from 5%, to an eventual level of 3%. He opposes the MBTA bailout, and does not support an increase in the gas tax or in tolls to close the budget gap. He favors voter I.D. laws. Boag opposes state benefits for illegal immigrants.[3]
