George Eichhorn (born in Davenport, Iowa) is a former member of the Iowa State Legislature, representing District 9 for two years starting in 2005. On December 17, 2009, he announced his candidacy for the office of secretary of state and challenge incumbent Democrat Michael Mauro for the position.[1]

Illegal immigration

In the midst of his tenure as a State Representative, Eichhorn voted in favor of House File 130, also known as the Iowa Dream Act.[2] The Dream Act "allows undocumented (or illegal) students to qualify for instate tuition and other scholarships/financial aid offered by the state."[3][4]
