Georgia House of Representatives , District 178
|Website||Campaign Facebook Page|
Moxley's Facebook page highlighted the following campaign themes:
- "With a heart to lead and hands to serve, George Moxley wants to represent the people of Wayne, Brantley, and Pierce Counties in Atlanta. George wants to work to combat a growing drug problem in our district. He also has a deep passion to improve our school systems and give our children a brighter future. As a pastor, George can speak to the effects of a broken economy better than most. He has seen the number of people who come to the food bank he started more than double since the economy took a turn for the worst. As a native of Wayne County, George knows the people of this area and he plans to do everything in his power to protect our South Georgia values. George Moxley is a work horse not a show horse, and he is determined to get things done. We would appreciate your support!"
Moxley and three other candidates were defeated by Chad Nimmer (R) in the February 15, 2011 special election to the Georgia House of Representatives District 136. Both Georgia special elections held an open primary. All candidates appeared on the February 15 ballot along with their party affiliation. Since Nimmer received more than 50% of the vote, the election did not proceed to a runoff on March 15.
