Georgia Gov. wants voters to approve a sales tax hike in 2012

ATLANTA, Georgia: Gov. Sonny Perdue wants to put a one-cent sales tax increase on the November 2012 ballot in Georgia to fund transportation projects. In a news conference in January 2010 he described his proposal as "the ultimate democratic referendum on investing in transportation."[1]
