The Georgia Attorney General election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Samuel S. Olens (R) was first elected in 2010 and is running for re-election. He faces Greg Hecht (D) in the general election. The winner of the election will serve a four-year term.

The recent history of attorney general races in Georgia has been favorable to the Democrats, with Olens replacing three-term Democratic incumbent Thurbert E. Baker in 2011. The past elections section details the past three elections, with each featuring a margin of victory of at least 9 percent. A September poll from Survey USA found that Olens was only ahead of Hecht by 7 percent with 12 percent of likely voters undecided for the general election.

Georgia is one of 14 states that uses an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party's primary.[1][2][3]
