Georgia groups fight to end state checks into voter identity

Several citizen groups will be heard today by a three-judge panel in an attempt to have the state cease comparing voter registration information with driver license data and social security databases. Under the Voting Rights Act of 1965, citizens who believe they are being denied access may be heard by a three-judge panel. Last week, the request to be heard by U.S. District Judge Jack Camp was rejected. [1]
