Geraldine Thompson is a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 39th District since 2006. She currently serves as Minority Leader Pro Tempore. Thompson is running in the 2012 election for Florida State Senate District 19.

Thompson is the founder of The Association to Preserve African American Society, History and Tradition, Incorporated. She has previously served as Assistant to the President of Valencia Community College from 1979-2003, and was a teacher in Orange County Public Schools.

Thompson is a member of the Holocaust Education and Resource Center Board, and Central Florida Young Men's Christian Association Board. [1]

Thompson is running against Robert Acosta, Rogue Gallart, Victoria Siplin, and Linda Stewart in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012. Fritz Jackson Seide is running unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012.[3]
