There was a Gering City Sales Tax Renewal on the May 11 ballot in Scotts Bluff County for voters in the city of Gering.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,230 (81%)Approveda
  • NO 275 (18%)[1]

This measure asked voters to approve the renewal of a one percent sales tax that was currently in place but expires the end of 2010. Since it was approved, the tax will be in place for a further six years and the money will be used for property tax relief, downtown development and the tourism industry, it generates around $10.4 million for the city since it was enacted in 1991.[2]
