Gilberts Village Sales Tax Implementation (April 2011)
This measure was approved
- YES 429 (77.16%)
- NO 112 (19.78%)
This measure sought to implement a sales tax of 1 percent in the village in order to fund new road programs. Many roads are in need of repair and village officials saw this as the easiest way to get extra revenues to fund these programs. The current sales tax rate was set at 7 percent and since this was approved it will be raised to 8 percent.
