Gladys Huber
Gladys Huber (b. April 1931) was a Democratic candidate for Wisconsin Governor in the recall election against incumbent Gov. Scott Walker. While she ran as a Democrat, Huber is actually a Republican and ran as a protest candidate in order to ensure a Democratic primary would be necessary.
Huber was also a Democratic candidate for District 8 of the Wisconsin State Senate in the 2011 recall election against Sen. Alberta Darling.
Huber, a longtime Republican supporter, ran as a protest candidate in order to necessitate a Democratic primary between herself and Sandy Pasch. Pasch easily defeated Huber in the July 12, 2011 primary.

Huber ran as a protest candidate for Wisconsin Governor in the recall election against incumbent Gov. Scott Walker. Recall petitions were turned in on January 17, 2012 and certified on March 30. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and Secretary of State Douglas La Follette all sought the Democratic nomination in the race. Hariprasad "Hari" Trivedi is running as an independent. The primary took place on May 8 with the general election on June 5.[1]
The state GOP announced in early April that they would be running "protest" candidates in all 2012 recalls in order to make sure they all fell on the same day.[2]

Huber lost to Sandy Pasch in the July 12 primary.
Pasch said of Huber's candidacy, "It's a little appalling to me that they are running a fake Democrat."[3]
Nicholas Brehm had registered to run as a Democratic-placeholder candidate.[4]
When asked for a comment by a reporter, Huber said, "I really have no comment at all. I will refer you to the Republican Party of Wisconsin."[5] According to Wisconsin Government Accountability Board records, Huber donated $100 to Darling on March 28, and between 2002-2010 gave nearly $2,000 to Republican candidates or the party.
Nicholas Brehm had filed to run as a "placeholder" Democrat. Following the news that all six "fake" Democrats had turned in their final paperwork to get on the ballot to the GAB, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin announced that it would not be running their placeholder candidates in the recalls as they are no longer necessary. Party Chair Mike Tate explained, "The goal of the placeholder candidacies was to create an insurance policy against further Republican attempts to exploit the recall election schedule through dirty tricks and cynical plots."[6]
All three had filed nomination papers with a sufficient number of verified signatures.
