Schwarz ran in the 2012 election for Arkansas State Senate District 31. Schwarz ran unopposed in the May 22 Libertarian primary, and was defeated by District 23 incumbent Democrat Joyce Elliott in the general election on November 6, 2012. No Republican candidate filed to run for this seat.[1][2]
