Glendale 40 School District Bond Measure (November 2011)
This measure was approved
- YES 2,364 (59.07%)
- NO 1,638 (40.93%)
This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $28.2 million in order to pay for school renovations, new buses, ground improvement costs and upgrading technology throughout the district. School officials noted that regardless of the vote, the rate of taxes levied in the district will decrease because the district has been aggressively paying off is previous debts and will allow the district to have a lower tax rate by about $1 million for the next school year. Since it was approved, homeowners would pay, on average, $55 per $100,000 of assessed property value. The district has not had any capital improvement money from the state for four years and the last bond was eight years ago, all that money has been spent by the district.
