A Glide Fire District Bond Measure was on the May 18, 2010 ballot in the Glide fire district which is in Douglas County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 601 (47.21%)
  • NO 672 (52.79%) Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $2.95 million and would have been used to build and equip a new fire station in the district area. The bond would have imposed a $.68 property tax increase, per $1,000 of assessed value.[2] The initial buildings were put together quickly and with expanding services they are in need of renovations and replacements, proponents noted that each year the district puts off replacing the buildings the costs will continue to rise. Proponents also noted that the tax increase was minimal and worth it for the services provided.[3]
