A Government Camp Incorporation Measure was on the May 18, 2010 ballot in the community of Government Camp which is in Clackamas County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 35 (41.17%)
  • NO 48 (58.83%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to incorporate the community of Government Camp so that they would be a city. This incorporation would have also implemented a city wide property tax rate of $.76 per $1,000 of assessed property value.[2] Proponents felt that by incorporating into a city they would be able to get taxes for their community, where as opponents felt that the tax rate would be too little to keep the city running. Proponents argued that the city would be small enough to ensure the rate would be sufficient. Government Camp is one of the oldest communities in the state.[3]
