CHARLESTON, West Virginia: Two departments under the administration of Governor Joe Manchin were subpoenaed by federal authorities[1].

West Virginia Watchdog reported that the Departments of Administration and Highways were served subpoenas by authorities on August 5, 2010. The subpoenas were in response to a federal grand jury investigation. Neither the Governor's office or the U.S. Attorney's office elaborated why the two departments received subpoenas[1].

The Governor's office issued a statement acknowledging the subpoenas and asked all departments named in the investigation to fully cooperate with federal authorities[1]. The Attorney General's office is representing the Departments of Administration and Highways in the investigation[1].
