This measure sought to increase the school property tax by a rate of around $5 per month per $100,000 of assessed property value for a further six years in order to help with budget deficits in the school district. School officials noted that without the increased funds teachers would be cut as well as reduced school programming and possibly shortening the school week to four days.^[2]
