A Grant Township Library Levy Addition measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Grant, which is in Oceana County.

This measure sought to renew and increase the current library levy to one set at a rate of $.25 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further six years in order to continue to pay for library services in the township. It was defeated.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Grant Township, Oceana County, Michigan for library services be renewed by not more than .2497 mills (twenty-four 97/100 cents on each $1,000.00) of the State Tax Valuation for a period of six (6) years 2012 through 2017 and an additional (.0003 mills .03/100 cents on each $1,000.00) of the State Tax Valuation for a period of six (6) years 2012 through 2017 for a total of .2500 mills for the purpose of providing library services for the Shelby District Library and shall the Township levy such increases in millage for said purposes thereby raising in the first year an estimated $20,000.00?[1][2]
