Greenwood Village City Charter Amendment (November 2011)

A Greenwood Village City Charter Amendment measure will be on the November 1, 2011 ballot in the city of Greenwood Village which is in Arapahoe County.

This measure seeks to amend the city charter so that no open space land which is currently owned by the city can be sold or re-zoned without an election with approval by residents.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall Article I, Section 1.05 (f) of the Charter of the City of Greenwood Village, Colorado be amended by the addition of the following?

Section 1.05. (f) Have power to sue and defend, purchase, lease, receive, hold and enjoy, or sell and dispose of real and personal property provided that any real property owned by the City and designated as open space on or after November 1, 2011 is hereby determined to be in use for a public purpose. No open space land owned by the City may be rezoned, sold, leased, traded, or otherwise conveyed, nor may any exclusive license or permit on such open space land be given, until approval of such disposal by the registered electors of the City at any regular or special election.
