Goggans has been an Orthodontist since 1981. He is also currently Co-owner/Director of Douglas National Bank.
Goggans attended the University of Georgia and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He went on to attend Orthodontic Specialty Training from the University of Tennessee. He then received Orthodontist/Dental Training from the Medical College of Georgia.
Goggans did not run for re-election in 2012 after four terms in the Georgia State Senate.[1] Goggans cited a need to focus on his orthodontic business as his reason for the decision.[2]
