A Harrison County Police Levy Replacement measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in Harrison County.

This measure sought to replace the current police levy with one set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for police protection services, police salaries and equipment costs in the county.[2]

The question on the ballot:

A replacement of a tax for the benefit of HARRISON COUNTY for the purpose of POLICE PROTECTION, INCLUDING THE PAYMENT OF SALARIES FOR POLICE PERSONNEL, PROVIDING, UPGRADING, AND MAINTAINING EQUIPMENT BY THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE at a rate not exceeding one (1) mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to ten cents ($0.10) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
