Biographical information
Harrison turned 83 in 2011. She is the oldest member of the legislature, and the longest serving member of the House of Delegates. She is the first African-American woman to chair a major committee (Rules & Executive Nominations), and she's run it for 32 years. [3]

Harrison successfully won re-election in the general election on November 2, 2010, taking the third of three seats.[4]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Hattie Harrison ran for District 45 of the Maryland House of Delegates, winning the second of three seats, losing to Cheryl Glenn but beating Talmadge Branch and Ronald Owens-Bey. [5]
