Senate Committees

The Hawaiian Affairs Committee is a former standing committee of the Hawaii House of Representatives. It was disbanded for the 2013-2014 session and succeeded by the Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs Committee.

Per the House Rules, committees of the Hawaii House of Representatives are assigned by party caucuses. Members of the majority caucus designate the chair, vice-chair and majority party members of the committee, while members of the minority caucus designates the minority members of the committee.[1] Committees are assigned at the start of each term.[2] A majority of appointed members make up a committee's quorum.[3] The Speaker and Vice Speaker serve as an ex officio member of each committee without the power to vote.[4]
