Help:Minor edit
From Ballotpedia
The minor edit box is available as an option when you are getting ready to save an edit. If you check this box, you are indicating that the edit you are about to save creates only a minor or superficial change from the previous edition of the page. Examples of minor edits:
- Corrections of typos
- Changes in formatting and presentational changes.
- Rearranging the text without changing its meaning.
When you say that an edit is minor, you are saying that you believe the change you are about to make could never be the subject of a dispute.
An edit of this kind is marked in its page's revision history with a lower case, bolded "m" character (m).
