A Highlands Fire and Police Parcel Tax ballot question was on the June 5, 2012 ballot for voters in the Highlands Service Area of San Mateo County, where it was approved.[1]
Measure Z extends a pre-existing $65 annual parcel tax. The parcel tax has been in place in the Highlands Service Area since 1982, and was set at the $65 per year level in 1996. Voters have approved the tax every four years since 1982. It generates about $92,000 each year in revenue.[1]
