The question on the ballot:

Should the Village of Hopedale solicit bids from garbage removal companies to enter into an annual contract with the Village of Hopedale to be the sole provider of garbage, rubbish and trash removal services for the residents of the Village of Hopedale? A yes vote would be for a single company. A no vote would be against a single company.[3]
