The Horicon School District Referendum

Defeated, with 822 "no" votes to 505 "yes" votes.
This referendum would increase property tax on a $100,000 home by $32.58.
Wording of referendum
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET TO EXCEED REVENUE LIMIT TO MEET OPERATING COSTS FOR ONE YEAR. BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of the School District of Horicon, Dodge County, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District budget for the 2009-10 school year be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $300,000.00 for the purposes of maintaining instructional programs and to meet the operating expenses of the district. The purpose of this resolution is non-recurring as it will only be authorized for one year.
