Humboldt County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, Measure Y (June 2012)
The approval of Measure Y meant that Humboldt County was authorized to renew for another ten years the fees associated with its "Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program." The fees are one dollar per vehicle and two dollars for some commercial vehicles. The money raised through the imposition of these fees is used to pay for a program that removes and disposes of abandoned and wrecked vehicles that are found dotting the roadsides throughout the county.
The "abandoned vehicle abatement fee" has been in place for twenty years.
A 2/3rds supermajority vote was required for approval.
- These final results are from the Humboldt County elections office.
The question on the ballot:
|MEASURE X: "Should the Humboldt County Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program and associated fees (one dollar per vehicle and an additional two dollars for certain commercial vehicles) be renewed for a ten year term under California Vehicle Code Sections 9250.7 and 22710, or any successor statutes thereto, for purposes of removal and disposal of abandoned and wrecked vehicles?"|
