The Idaho Dredge Mining Initiative, also known as Initiative 1, was on the November 2, 1954 ballot in Idaho as an initiated state statute, where it was approved. The measure required that dredge mining ground be smoothed over and water courses replaced for fish, wildlife and recreation, making the Land Board the administrative agency responsible for maintaining dredge mining ground. The measure also made dredge mining illegal without a permit.[1] [2]
