Recall laws
An effort to recall Ike Stage from his position as Mayor of Grove City, Ohio, was launched in April 2010.[1] The recall effort was ultimately abandoned short of a vote.

Grove City resident Terry Jones, the founder of South Western Alternatives to Taxes, was a leader of the recall effort. Jones said that Stage's support for an increased South-Western City School District tax levy was one reason for the recall.[1] $25,000 in tax revenue from hotel bed taxes collected in Grove City was spent by Mayor Stage to promote a "yes" vote on recent school tax levies, according to Jones.

Path to the ballot

According to Grove City's city charter, if 25% of the number of people who voted in a given race sign a recall petition, the recall initiative will be placed on the ballot. The number of required signatures was 1,701.
