Illinois' 12th congressional district makes up the southern tip of the state. It includes the counties of Jefferson, Perry, Franklin, Williamson, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, Jackson, Randolph, Monroe, St. Claire, and part of Madison county.[1]
Previously, the district was located in western Illinois.
The current representative of the 12th congressional district is William Enyart (D).

The 12th congressional district of Illinois held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2012. William Enyart won the election in the district.[2]

On November 2, 2010, Jerry Costello won re-election to the United States House of Representatives. He defeated Teri Newman (R) and Rodger Jennings (G) in the general election.[3]
