Senate Committees

The International Affairs Committee is a former standing committee of the Hawaii House of Representatives. It was created for the 2011-2012 session, but not reformed for the 2013-2014 session. Prior to 2011, it was a part of the Tourism, Culture & International Affairs Committee. For the 2013-2014 session, its duties were transferred to the Veterans, Military, & International Affairs, & Culture and the Arts Committee.

Per the House Rules, committees of the Hawaii House of Representatives are assigned by party caucuses. Members of the majority caucus designate the chair, vice-chair and majority party members of the committee, while members of the minority caucus designates the minority members of the committee.[1] Committees are assigned at the start of each term.[2] A majority of appointed members make up a committee's quorum.[3] The Speaker and Vice Speaker serve as an ex officio member of each committee without the power to vote.[4]
