Iowa Chapter 217, also known as the Offenses Tried without Indictment Act, was on the November 7, 1998 election ballot in Iowa. It passed, with 63.9% of voters in favor.

Proposes to amend the constitution to eliminate the limitation on fines for offenses which may be summarily tried without indictment.
