- NO 6,404 (61.08%)
This measure sought to add a sales tax of one-quarter of a cent on purchased goods in the county in order to further help fund public safety services that are offered in the county. County council members noted that while they were not sure the issue would be approved, they hoped residents would understand the importance of a well funded public safety service. This tax addition was expected to generate near $620,000 a year for the county. The sheriff's office noted that it would have been able to rehire lost officers if they had gotten the additional money. New squad cars would have also been on the agenda.
