There was an Issue 5, Akron Recall Amendment on the November 3 ballot in Summit County for voters in the city of Akron.

This Issue sought to change the city charter in regards to how recalls are conducted. Before, for one to initiate a recall there needs to be a petition signed by 20 percent of the voters who voted in the last election, but this amendment now makes it so that there will instead be needed 20 percent of all registered voters in the city to sign the petition. Some have raised the issue that the current 30 days period to get all the signatures is not enough, but others note that recalling anyone should be hard.[1]
