Jack Hatch (b. March 13, 1950) is a Democratic member of the Iowa Senate, representing District 33.

Education

Hatch earned his BS and MPA from Drake University in 1972 and 1973, respectively.

Professional experience

Hatch has been Chair of the National Housing and Neighborhood Development Corporation. He worked as Assistant Planner for the City of Des Moines from 1973 to 1974. He then worked as Assistant Director for the Central Iowa Regional Association of Local Government from 1975 to 1978. He has been owner of Hatch and Associates since 1979. He is currently a Real Estate Developer.

Political experience

Hatch was a State Legislator from 1985 to 1993. He was State Director for United States Senator Tom Harkin from 1993 to 1995. He was then a Congressional Candidate from 1995 to 1996. He served in the Iowa State House of Representatives from 1984 to 2002. He joined the Iowa State Senate in 2002 and has served in that position since. He is currently Assistant Majority Leader, representing the 33rd district.

Hatch and his wife, Sonja Roberts, have two children.
