James Eckhardt is a former Republican member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Rutland-Windsor-1 from 2011 to 2013.
Eckhardt is the owner of Censor Security, Inc. He was selected by Governor Jim Douglas to serve on the Vermont Board of Private Investigative and Security Services, which he now chairs.
Eckhardt attended Brastow School and graduated from Otter Valley High School.[1]

James Eckhardt ran for the Vermont House of Representatives Rutland-Windsor 1 in 2010. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on August 24, 2010. He defeated incumbent Megan Smith (D) in the November 2, 2010 general election.[4]

Personal
Eckhardt was the recipient of the 2005-2006 Small Business Champion Award. He chairs the Rutland County Pro-Business Coalition and the Leadership Council of the Vermont chapter of the National Federatio of Independent Business. He and his wife, Louise, have three children and live in Chittenden.
