James Lockhart is a Democratic member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 3. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010.

Biography

Lockhart earned his A.S. in Biology and Zoology and his B.S. in Business Management. He also holds a teaching certificate. His professional experience includes working on his family's cow/calf operation and has previously worked on several scientific research projects concerning such topics as alternative energy.[1]

Elections for the office of Oklahoma House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place June 24, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 11, 2014. Incumbent James Lockhart was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Traci Barnes was unopposed in the Republican primary. Lockhart and Barnes will face off in the general election.[2][3]

Lockhart was initially defeated in a six-way Democratic primary on July 27, falling short of winner Matt Webb. However, in the subsequent August 24 primary runoff election, he defeated Webb by a margin of 1,916-1,424. Lockhart defeated Roger Mattox (R) in the general election.[8][9][10][11]
