Kasper ran in the 2012 election for North Dakota Senate District 46. Kasper and fellow incumbent Kathy Hawken ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 12. They defeated Diane R. Hill and Lee Myxter in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
