Snyder was defeated in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 43. He did not face a primary election on August 2, 2011. James Walley defeated Dennis Cochran and Tommy Dickerson in the Democratic primary. Phillip Gandy and Connie Wilkerson defeated Robert Hendry and Roun McNeal in the Republican primary. Gandy then defeated Wilkerson in the primary runoff election on August 23, 2011. Snyder lost in the general election on November 8, 2011. [1]
