Johnson won re-election in the 2012 election for New Hampshire House of Representatives, Cheshire 12. Johnson was unopposed in the September 11 Republican primary and won re-election in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

On November 2, 2010 Johnson was re-elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

On November 4, 2008, Johnson won re-election by finishing fourth for the four-seat Cheshire District 6 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives receiving 2,773 votes, behind Democrats Nancy Carlson (3,519), Alfred Lerandeau (3,450), and Peter Allen (3,166) and ahead of Democrat Anthony Dubois III (2,750), Republicans Judson Dexter (2,480) and Douglas Lyman (2,019), and "Others" (8).[4]
