Janine Hansen was a 2012 Independent American candidate for District 19 of the Nevada State Senate.
Hansen is opposed to illegal immigration and raising the Elko County gas tax. Her economic policy includes cutting individual, business, and gas taxes; ending deficit spending; and "sound money."

Hansen ran in the 2012 election for Nevada State Senate, District 19. Hansen ran unopposed in the June 12 primary election and was defeated by Peter Goicoechea (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.
