Jason Frerichs is a Democratic member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 1. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010. He currently serves as Minority Leader.

Frerichs served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2009 to 2011. During this time, he served as Minority Whip.

Biography

Frerichs earned his B.S. in Agriculture Education from South Dakota State University in 2007. He went on to receive International Agriculture Experience from South Dakota State University's College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences in 2008.

In 2001, Frerichs worked as a Page for the United States Senate. He is currently a farmer/rancher and teacher in the Agriculture Department of Lake Area Technical Institute.
