Jean-Paul J. Morrell (b. September 2, 1978) is a Democratic member of the Louisiana Senate, representing District 3.
Education
Morrell earned his BS from Spring Hill College in 2001. He went on to receive his JD from Tulane University Law School in 2004.
Professional experience
Morrell was a Staff Intern for United States Senator John Breaux in 2001. In 2006 he was Public Defender for the Office of Indigent Public Defender at Orleans Parish in 2006. He has worked as partner for Morrell & Morrell, Limited Liability Company, since 2004.
Political experience
Morrell served in the Louisiana State House of Representatives from 2006 to 2008. He then won a special election for the Louisiana State Senate, District 3, on December 6, 2008. He has served the Senate since, representing the 3rd district.
