Jean Berkey is a Washington state senator, currently serving the 38th district.[1] She has occupied her senate seat since 2004 and is a member of the Democratic Party.
Education
Berkey earned his BA in Business from the University of Washington.
Professional experience
Berkey worked as an accounting clerk/senior clerk for GTE Northwest Incorporated, from 1956 to 1971. In 1974 he worked as a job analyst for Scott Paper Company. He went on to work as an employment relations specialist for the Kenworth Truck Company from 1975 to 1977. He then became Recruitment Supervisor for the Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska and worked in that position from 1977 to 1979. He was the manager of Berkey and Associates from 1980 to 2000.
Political experience
Berkey was appointed to the Washington State House of Representatives in January of 2000. He served in this position until 2004, when he was appointed to the Washington State Senate. He has represented the 38th district in the senate ever since.
