Doerge is a retired teacher. She worked for the Webster Parish School Board, Acadia Parish School Board, and Arp Independent School Board, 1959-1961.
Doerge serves as Chair of the Administrative Board of the First United Methodist Church of Minden. She is a member of the Democratic Caucus, Independent Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus, and Louisiana Rural Caucus.[1]
